Qantas and Jetstar Airways will increase the frequency of flights from Sydney to destinations on the eastern coast of Australia.

Qantas will boost the frequency of services from Sydney to Melbourne and to Brisbane by 11 flights a week each, with effect from 9 July and 23 August respectively.

Its subsidiary Jetstar will add 21 flights a week between Sydney and Melbourne on 16 August and seven flights a week from Sydney to Adelaide on 15 November.

From 18 April 2013, the carrier will operate seven additional flights a week from Sydney to Ballina-Byron and the Gold Coast. It will also increase the frequency of services from Gold Coast to Adelaide by three times a week and to Newcastle by four times a week.
