Qantas closed financing on a new Boeing 787 delivery last month through a Japanese lease structure with a syndicate of banks.
The 787-8 (MSN 36228), which delivered in December, was funded by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Commerzbank, National Australia Bank and Westpac Institutional Bank.
The aircraft joined two 787s in operations at subsidiary Jetstar.
Qantas financed its first 787 delivery last year through a Japanese operating lease with call option arranged by Credit Agricole-CIB. The Australian carrier has 11 more 787s on order.
