Qantas has applied to Australia's International Air Services Commission (IASC) for capacity on the Singapore-Thailand route to support its codeshare arrangements with Jetstar Asia.

"Under these arrangements, Qantas plans to place its code on additional Jetstar Asia services between Singapore and Thailand, as soon as all necessary approvals have been received," said Qantas in a letter to the IASC.

According to the IASC, Qantas has applied for an allocation of "14 Boeing 747 equivalent frequencies per week to be used for third country codeshare services on the route".

Qantas has requested that the allocation be granted for five years from the date of the IASC's determination, and says the allocation will be fully utilised by 30 September 2011.
