Qantas Airways has launched additional services between Melbourne and Tasmania.

Its subsidiary QantasLink will use a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 on the Melbourne-Hobart route. This complements a twice daily service on the route that uses Boeing 737 and increases the frequency of the service to thrice daily.

QantasLink's weekly services on the Melbourne-Launceston route will increase from 17 to 28, it adds.

On the Melbourne-Devonport route, two weekly return services will be upgraded to the larger Q400 aircraft from the Q300, says Qantas.
