Qantas Airways plans to resume its Sydney-Gold Coast service in late October.
The carrier will operate the thrice daily route using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, says Qantas.
Jetstar Airways, its low-cost subsidiary, took over the route some years ago, and will continue operating the route even after Qantas's relaunch.
"Qantas and all of our people are very excited to return to the Gold Coast and relaunch services between Sydney and the Gold Coast," says Qantas's chief executive Alan Joyce.
Schedules in Innovata show that Qantas will compete with Jetstar and Virgin Australia on the route.
