Qantas will introduce internet connectivity on a trial basis on six Airbus A380 aircraft operated on routes between Sydney and Melbourne to Los Angeles, starting in February 2012.

The system will be provided by OnAir, and uses Inmarsat's SwiftBroadband, said the company.

It will form part of the carrier's ongoing evaluation of connectivity options, including the review of next generation technology platforms, it added.
