QantasLink will offer business class seats and in-flight entertainment on five Boeing 717 aircraft that will enter service from late 2013.

The five additional 717s will bring the unit's entire fleet to 18 717 aircraft.

The aircraft will serve the Sydney-Canberra, Brisbane-Canberra, and Melbourne-Canberra routes as the 717 aircraft size and configuration ideally suited to these routes, says QantasLink executive manager John Gissing.

This will allow parent Qantas to deploy Boeing 737 aircraft on other routes within the carrier's domestic network.
