Qatar Airways has pushed back the launch date of its planned new flights to Azerbaijan and Georgia to 2012, citing operational reasons.

Services to Baku and Tbilisi were originally scheduled to begin on 30 November 2011, but will now start on 1 February 2012.

Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: "With capacity increases planned on many routes, we face constraints on aircraft availability, therefore decided to revise these two route launch dates and move them to February."

Passengers with tickets and confirmed bookings to and from both cities will be rebooked on alternative flights to their final destination, said the airline.
