Prospective Oneworld alliance member Qatar Airways is to open a new service to the Omani city of Salalah in mid-2013.
The carrier, which already operates 31 weekly services to the Omani capital Muscat, is to open the Salalah operation on 22 May 2013.
Qatar Airways confirmed the plan in the week of the Arab Air Carriers Organization annual meeting in Algiers.
It will operate to Salalah four times per week, using 144-seat Airbus A320s. Qatar Airways is also engaging in a codeshare with Oman Air on the trunk Doha-Muscat route.
