Six months after inaugurating flights from Qatar's capital Doha to Sao Paulo, Qatar Airways has forged a new codeshare agreement with Brazilian carrier Gol.

Under the new agreement Qatar is adding its code to 48 Brazilian destinations served by Gol. The two carriers are also working to sign a frequent flyer exchange programme to allow Gol's Smiles members and Qatar Privilege Club customers to earn and redeem miles on flights operated by both carriers.

The new agreement with Qatar brings the number of Gol's codeshare partners to six. Gol's current codeshare partners are American, Delta, Aeromexico, Air France-KLM and Iberia.
