Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker was voted airline personality of the year at the World Travel Market awards in London last week, one of five awards picked up by Qatar’s national carrier.
The airline won awards for leading flat bed seat, best inflight meal service and leading airline in the Middle East. The Doha-based carrier added a fifth trophy by winning a World Travel Global Award.
The achievements mark Qatar Airways’ progress since its relaunch in 1997.
