Middle Eastern carrier Qatar Airways is the latest airline to disclose plans to operate to the new Dubai World Central airport Al-Maktoum International.
The airport opened to passenger flights on 27 October, with the first official commercial arrival conducted by a Wizz Air aircraft from Budapest.
Gulf Air and Jazeera Airways have already confirmed plans to operate to Al-Maktoum.
But Qatar Airways is also to start services to the new airport. It will begin flying twice-daily to Dubai World Central from 1 March next year, using Airbus A320s, the carrier states.
Qatar chief executive Akbar Al Baker says an "ever-increasing demand" for United Arab Emirates services justifies the additional connection. The airline is also planning to open twice-daily A320 flights to Sharjah at the same time.
