Rolls-Royce has announced the completion of the first batch of wide-chord fan blades and the first Trent 900 engine assembled and tested at its Singapore engine factory.
"At Seletar, we bring together state of the art technologies, advanced manufacturing techniques and highly skilled people to produce some of the most advanced aero engines in the world," Mark King, president of civil aerospace for Rolls-Royce, said in a statement.
The factory, which involved an investment of S$700 million ($569 million), was opened in February 2012 during the Singapore air show.
Rolls-Royce produces the Trent 900 engine for the Airbus A380 aircraft at the factory. The factory will also eventually produce the Trent 1000 engine for the Boeing 787.
