Republic Airlines anticipates the delivery of its first Embraer 175 enhanced in April, the Indianapolis-based regional carrier says.
The airline is in the midst of taking delivery of 47 E175s, both the enhanced and base version, under a contact with American Airlines. At the end of December 2013, 16 of these aircraft were in operation.
The E175 enhanced benefits from fuel burn that is 6.4% lower than the base model. It also includes a new winglet and aerodynamic clamps.
Republic does not set a specific date for the delivery of its first enhanced aircraft, it says.
Utah-based SkyWest Airlines is scheduled to take delivery of the first E175 enhanced during the week of 24 March. Mesa Airlines is also expected its first E175 enhanced – the second aircraft of 30 – in April.
