Republic Airlines has taken delivery of the first Embraer 175 for American Airlines, which is slated to enter service on 1 August.
The aircraft, registration N401YX, was delivered to the Indianapolis-based regional carrier on 15 July, Flightglobal's Ascend Online database shows. It is the first of 47 under a 12-year capacity purchase agreement with American.
The E-175 flew to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airport from Manaus, Brazil, on 17 July, according to Flightaware.com.
Republic did not respond to inquiries.
The aircraft is configured with 76 seats and will be used initially on flights from Oneworld alliance member American's Chicago O'Hare hub.
American anticipates having four E-175s in service this quarter and 15 by the end of the year.
Republic is financing the aircraft with debt from the Brazilian development bank BNDES. The debt has a 12-year tenor with a full pay out at maturity.
