Australia's Regional Express (Rex) has named its general manager of flight operations and chief pilot Chris Hine as its chief operating officer, a newly created position.
Hine, who will take on his new role with effect from 1 March, will also be appointed to the airline's board of directors from the same date.
Hine joined Rex in 2002, says the airline. He had formerly worked seven years at Kendell Airlines, which merged with Hazelton Airlines in 2002 to form Rex.
Separately, Rex subsidiary Air Link's CEO David Miller will retire from Rex's board from 1 March. He will continue in his role as chief of Air Link.
