Pam Am International Flight Academy has accepted delivery of a Rockwell Collins Advanced Edge Boeing Next Generation 737 full flight simulator at its North American training centre in Miami.

Rockwell Collins introduced the Edge simulator in 2009, and expects to achieve FAA Level D certification for the device in May.

The simulator features the Rockwell Collins display and image generating technology, a configurable instructor tools suite, open systems hardware and software architecture to support upgrades and a scalable modular design to provide a broad range of training devices with common hardware and software components.

"The delivery to Pan Am is especially important to us as we look to introduce more training centres and pilots to the advanced capabilities of this system," says Rockwell Collins VP of simulation and training solutions Ken Schreder.
