Taiwanese carrier Eva Airways has selected the Rockwell Collins Airshow 4200D 3D moving map for a portion of its fleet.

Aircraft covered under the agreement include 33 Boeing 777-300ERs, 747-400s, Airbus A330-200s and three A330s, with first delivery scheduled for later this year.

The 3D moving map system includes a graphical design that utilises NASA's Blue Marble map data, which is based on actual satellite imagery, to provide a modernised view of real-time flight information to passengers, said the company.

In addition, the system's features and performance enhancements include a new global map package that offers improvements in detail and worldwide coverage, realistic day and night views on all 3D maps, new time and flight status displays and a new head-up display that provides a pilot's-eye view of the flight, added Rockwell Collins.
