Ryanair has recorded a 2% year-on-year decline in its passenger numbers to 4.47 million for February.

Passenger numbers in the same month a year earlier stood at 4.57 million.

Load factor for the month remained flat at 76%.

"As previously guided, Ryanair's 2011/12 winter traffic was expected to decline by approx 5% as we sit up to 80 aircraft on the ground due to higher oil prices," says Ryanair.
