Ryanair posts full-year pre-tax loss of €180m

Irish budget carrier Ryanair has posted a pre-tax loss of €180 million ($254 million) for operating activities over the full year.

In the 12 months to 31 March 2009 the carrier posted operating revenues of €2.94 billion, a rise of 8%.

Passenger numbers for the year were up 15% to 58.5 million.

Ryanair's figures include a large writedown of €222 million in its investment in Irish flag-carrier Aer Lingus.
