Irish budget carrier Ryanair is to establish a base at Brussels' main airport from early next year, and open 10 routes from the new location.
Ryanair has traditionally used Charleroi as its access point to the Belgian capital, and the opening of the base is a departure from the carrier's typical strategy of using secondary airports.
It says it will operate to Alicante, Barcelona, Ibiza, Lisbon, Malaga, Palma, Porto, Rome, Valencia and Venice.
Ryanair will station four Boeing 737-800s at the airport. Brussels will bring the number of bases for the carrier to 62. The new base will open in February 2014.
