Irish budget carrier Ryanair is to establish its first Norwegian base at Rygge Airport outside the capital Oslo.

It will station three Boeing 737-800s at the airport, and open 16 new routes, bringing its total network there to 22.

The new services will operate to Aarhus, Berlin Schonefeld, Dublin, Dusseldorf Weeze, Eindhoven, Gdansk, Krakow, La Rochelle, Malaga, Allgau, Palma, Paris Beauvais, Riga, Wroclaw, Valencia and Venice Treviso.

Rygge will take the number of Ryanair bases to 37.
