Irish low cost carrier Ryanair today announced five new routes from the UK, including its first destination in Hungary.

Ryanair will launch services from London Stansted to Balaton in Hungary, located near the resort spa region of Lake Balaton and the health spa town of Heviz. It is also launching flights from Stansted to Lamezia and Parma in Italy, Vitoria in Spain; and from London Luton to Brest in France. The new routes will launch between 17 February and 31 March.

It will serve Vitoria daily, Parma four times a week and Balaton, Lamezia and Brest thrice-weekly.

Speaking at a press conference in London today, Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary said: “Most of the new routes we have announced are in western Europe and that remains the focus of our growth for the time being with our traffic growth remaining at 25% month on month.

“We are returning to Lamezia airport in Italy after deciding to pull our London Stansted service there some years ago after having had a row with the airport. We have also been trying to get into Parma for a number of years. Vitoria takes to 16 the number of airports from where we operate in Spain and Brest takes us to 19 airports in France.”
