Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will launch services to San Francisco from Copenhagen on 8 April 2013, as well as increasing frequencies to New York's Newark International airport on 1 April 2013.

The carrier will operate six times weekly services to San Francisco, while it will add three flights on the Copenhagen-Newark route, which is already served daily.

SAS says it will deploy Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft on both routes.

According to Innovata schedules, no other carrier operates flights between Copenhagen and San Francisco. SAS competes with United Airlines on the Copenhagen-Newark route.
