SAS Group's passenger traffic rose 4.5% against a capacity increase of 4% in February 2011, compared with the year before.

This led to a load factor for the month of 66.9%, up 0.3 percentage points. Passengers numbers increased by 6.2% to 2.1 million.

SAS Group, which comprises Scandinavian Airlines, Blue1 and Widerøe, says it carefully managed capacity in order to improve the load factor during February.

It adds: "Following reduced capacity in January, the SAS Group plans to gradually increase the capacity in line with the seasonally stronger demand during the first quarter and, in total, increase capacity by 5-6% during 2012."
