SAS Group has secured a contract to supply domestic travel to employees of the Swedish Government.
The Scandinavian company says the agreement covers domestic routes across an area from the northern city of Kiruna to Malmo in the south. Government travel, it adds, primarily takes place on connections from Stockholm to Lulea, Malmo and Ronneby.
SAS Group attributes the sale to its low bid. "The size of SAS is our strength," says SAS vice-president for sales Lars-Ove Filipson. "A company often only needs to have one contract with us to satisfy all of their travel requirements."
SAS Group says its agreement runs for a year from 1 October. The agreement is worth SKr250 million ($34 million), it adds, although an optional one-year extension means there is "potential for twice this amount".
