Saudia Cargo carried 471,000t of cargo for the January-November period, marking a 19% year-on-year increase in tonnage.

Chief executive Fahad Hammad says the growth has in large part been fuelled by exports from Europe, east Africa and the United Arab Emirates.

"In addition to achieving all-time highs in both October and November, 2012 will be an overall record year for Saudia Cargo with a total growth in revenue of 20%," adds Hammad.

Saudia Cargo became the second strategic unit to be part-privatised by the kingdom's flag carrier in 2008, when Tarabut Air Freight Services acquired a 30% stake.
