Russian investigators have retrieved information from the flight recorders of the Bombardier CRJ200 which crashed in poor weather while attempting to land at Almaty in Kazakhstan.

The Interstate Aviation Committee says information about the ill-fated flight is "available" from the recorders' traces, even though the instruments sustained mechanical damage as the jet struck the ground.

All the recorded information has been downloaded for analysis, it adds.

None of the 21 occupants of the SCAT-operated regional jet survived after it crsahed on 29 January following a domestic service from Kokshetau.
