Singapore Airlines' long-haul low-cost subsidiary, Scoot, has delayed the launch of its Singapore-Shenyang-Qingdao-Singapore service to January 2013.

The carrier had planned to launch the thrice weekly service on 27 November, but it says regulatory issues have forced it to delay the launch.

The airline adds that there will be no change in the operating frequency.

Innovata Schedules show that Scoot will compete with China Southern Airlines, which operates one-stop services from Singapore to Shenyang, and China Eastern Airlines, which operates one-stop services to Qingdao.
