Singapore Airlines' (SIA) long-haul low-cost carrier Scoot will launch a Singapore-Taipei Taoyuan service starting from 18 September.
The airline will initially operate thrice weekly flights on the route, before increasing it to daily on 29 October, says Scoot. It also plans to extend the service to Tokyo's Narita airport on the same date, subject to regulatory approval.
Scoot will operate Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
Schedules in Innovata show that Scoot will compete with carriers such as China Airlines and Eva Air on the Singapore-Taipei Taoyuan and Taipei Taoyuan-Tokyo Narita routes.
