Singapore-based long-haul low-cost carrier Scoot has announced that Gold Coast in Australia will be its second destination.
The Singapore Airlines subsidiary, which will start with a fleet of four Boeing 777-200s, will operate five weekly flights a week from mid-2012, it said in a statement. It will be the only airline to offer services on the Singapore-Gold Coast route.
Scoot had earlier announced that its inaugural service will be Singapore-Sydney. It also plans to begin operations in mid-2012 with services to China.
