Japan's Sendai Airport will partially reopen to flights from 13 April, a month after it was struck by the 11 March earthquake and tsunami.
Japanese carriers Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) will resume flights to the airport on the same day, say the two airlines following today's announcement on the reopening by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
ANA will begin operating thrice daily relief flights from Sendai to Tokyo Haneda, says the Star Alliance carrier.
JAL will operate flights from Tokyo Haneda and Osaka Itami to Sendai. Both airlines will operate the flights with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
