Antonov has started pre-delivery flight tests of the first serially-produced An-158 regional twinjet.
The aircraft became airborne on 20 March at the Kiev-based plant Aviant and performed a series of control functionality checks and exercises during a 2h 20 min flight, says the manfacturer.
It says a month-long trial programme will include 10 sorties, of which three are rated as post-production and seven as customer familiarisation and acceptance flights.
Following tests, the 99-seat An-158 will be handed over to Cuban flag-carrier Cubana which has an order for six of the type. Russian lessor Ilyushin Finance is acting as Antonov's marketing agent and arranger of the deal.
