Chinese carrier Shandong Airlines has acquired a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft on delivery from Air China, Flightglobal's Ascend online database shows.

The aircraft (MSN 40043) is equipped with CFM International CFM56-7B26E engines.

The transaction, which closed on 22 June, follows an 11-year sale and leaseback deal on a new 737-800 in April with CDB Leasing. In May Shandong also sold and leased back a new 737-800 with ICBC Leasing.

Shandong Airlines has two additional 737-800 deliveries scheduled in July, while in 2014 the carrier will take five more aircraft of the type.

It signed lease agreements for two new 737-800s, delivering in February and March 2014, with SMBC Aviation Capital.
