Passenger numbers at Shanghai's Hongqiao and Pudong airports rose by 3.5% in December 2012, compared with the same period a year ago.
The airports' domestic throughput increased by 3.7% to 1.69 million, international numbers rose by 4.2% to 1.3 million, while regional numbers remained at 423,900, says the Shanghai Airport Authority, which operates both airports.
Total aircraft movements at both airports rose by 1.5% to 28,600. Cargo and mail throughput declined by 6.3% to 244,000t.
The airports' overall passenger numbers for November, meanwhile, rose by 4.5% to 3.43 million and its total aircraft movements increased by 2.6% to 28,800.
Its domestic and international passenger numbers grew by 5.4% and by 2.4% year on year to 1.76 million and 1.24 million respectively.
The cargo and mail throughput rose by 0.8% to 266,000t, adds the airport authority.
