A list purporting to reveal the shortlist for Tarom's board of directors has been published by Romanian transport publication TIR Magazin.
Compiled by consultancy PwC and law firm D&B David and Baias, the list apparently contains the details of executives selected for interview.
Included are Mark Darby, former chief executive of Baboo Airlines, Finn Thaulow, ex-CEO of Syrian Pearl Airlines and Vidas Zvinys, a previous boss of Lithuanian Airlines.
In all, the document contains 24 names, including current staff members from a number of European carriers such as British Airways, Estonian Air and Cargolux Italia.
The document indicates that over 200 applications were received for the posts, which have been created as part of the International Monetary Fund-led efforts to privatise and modernise state-owned companies in Romania.
No-one from PwC was immediately available to verify the list.
