Singapore Airlines Cargo and Etihad Cargo have entered a capacity exchange agreement covering freighter routes between the Middle East and Europe.
Under the agreement, SIA Cargo will have access to Etihad Cargo capacity on a weekly flight from Abu Dhabi to Frankfurt. In addition, it will also have access to other cargo capacities on Etihad services through the Middle East, Africa and central Asia.
SIA Cargo will also offer capacity to Etihad Cargo on its Abu Dhabi-London Heathrow freighter services. It operates a weekly Singapore-Abu Dhabi-London Heathrow service, with a second to start from 31 October.
“We look forward to working with Singapore Airlines Cargo to further enhance cargo access and network connectivity for our respective customers,” says Etihad Cargo’s vice-president cargo David Kerr.
Etihad Cargo has a fleet of nine dedicated freighter aircraft, of which two are operated by Atlas Air and one is operated by KLM. It will take delivery of an additional Airbus A330-200 Freighter in 2014.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Online Fleets database shows that SIA Cargo operates a fleet of nine Boeing 747-400 Freighters.
