Singapore Airlines (SIA) will launch daily flights from Singapore to Surabaya and increase the frequency of Singapore-Jakarta and Singapore-Denpasar services starting 26 July.
SIA will take over one of two daily Surabaya flights currently operated by its regional subsidiary SilkAir and use Airbus A330-300s on the service.
In addition, the carrier will introduce a ninth daily service to Jakarta and will simultaneously add its fourth daily service to Denpasar on 26 July.
SIA operates A330-300 aircraft on the Singapore-Jakarta route and Boeing 777-200 aircraft on the Singapore-Denpasar route.
According to Innovata schedules, the airline will compete with China Airlines, Lion Air, Mandala Airlines and Jetstar Asia subsidiary ValuAir on the Singapore-Surabaya route. On the Singapore-Jakarta route, it competes with carriers including Garuda Indonesia, Jetstar Asia and Lion Air.
Other carriers operating on the Singapore-Denpasar route include Garuda Indonesia, KLM and Indonesia AirAsia.
