SIA traffic down 15% in fiscal Q4

Singapore Airlines experienced a 1% fall in passenger traffic last fiscal year but in the last quarter it fell 15%.

The Star Alliance carrier says in a statement that RPKs fell 1% in the 12 months ending 31 Mach but in the last quarter of that year RPKs dropped 15%.

In real terms, the number of passengers for the year fell 4% to 18.3 million from 19.1 million but in the fourth quarter the passenger numbers fell 18% to 3.9 million from 4.8 million.

Cargo traffic, as measured by cargo tonne kilometres, fell 8% for the year and 16% in the last quarter.
