SIA traffic up 7% in April

Singapore Airlines (SIA) reported a 7% growth in RPKs in April from the corresponding period a year ago.

The number of passengers carried by the airline increased 6.3% to 1.38 million, said the Star Alliance carrier.

Capacity, as measured in ASKs, grew 11.2% as a result of additional frequencies to Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Male and Taipei, added SIA.

The passenger load factor declined three percentage points to 74.6%.

In the cargo market, total cargo volumes grew 11.1% to 99,700t, said the airline.
