Siberian operator Angara is to take two more Antonov An-148-100 regional jets on financial lease.
Under an agreement struck with Sberbank Leasing last month, the Irkutsk-based carrier will receive the two 75-seat aircraft by the end of October.
The jets are additional to Angara’s three domestically built An-148s supplied by Ilyushin Finance in 2012.
Angara deputy director Dmitry Sokolov says the type has proved optimal for developing intra-regional services in Siberian climates.
Aircraft manufacturer VASO is also poised to hand over two specially configured An-148s ordered by Russia’s presidential administration and two by the emergency situations ministry.
