Azerbaijan cargo carrier Silk Way Airlines is seeking a long-term loan guarantee for more than $100 million from the US Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im) for Boeing 747 aircraft.
The International Bank of Azerbaijan is the guarantor of the loan, according to a disclosure in the US Federal Register today.
Silk Way is scheduled to take delivery of two 747-8F aircraft leased from GECAS in 2014, with one due in March and one in April, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows.
The cargo carrier has two more 747-8Fs on order with deliveries from Boeing in 2015 and 2016, according to Ascend.
Silk Way operates one Antonov An-12, three 747-400Fs, two Boeing 767-300ERFs and nine Ilyushin Il-76s, the database shows.
