SilkAir will launch thrice weekly flights from Singapore to Semarang and Makassar on 29 July and 1 August respectively.

The airline says it will use Airbus A320 family aircraft on the two new routes.

Semarang is the capital of the central Java province, while Makassar is the provincial capital of south Sulawesi.

Innovata schedules show that the carrier will compete with Indonesia AirAsia on the Semarang route, and with Garuda Indonesia on the Makassar route.
