Singapore Airlines' (SIA) regional subsidiary, SilkAir, plans to launch services to Wuhan and increase frequencies on other services.

The carrier will launch three times a week Singapore-Wuhan service on 24 April 2012, said SilkAir. It did not state the type of aircraft to be used for this service.

SilkAir will also increase frequencies on its services to Bangalore, Changsha, Chongqing, Hyderabad, Koh Samui, Lombok and Pekanbaru.

It will add a weekly flight to its Singapore-Changsha, Singapore-Bangalore and Singapore-Hyderabad services. It will also increase its Singapore-Lombok and Singapore-Pekanbaru services from three times a week to five times a week.

Services to Chongqing and Koh Samui will increase from five times a week to daily.

The frequency increases will take effect from 25 March 2012, added SilkAir.

Schedules in Innovata show SilkAir will be the only operator on the Singapore-Wuhan route.
