Singapore Airlines passenger traffic up 3% in March

Singapore Airlines' passenger traffic as measured in RPKs increased by 2.7% year on year in March.

The carrier's passenger capacity as measured in ASKs rose by 3%, and its passenger load factor fell by 0.2 percentage points to 79.3%.

The number of passengers carried by the airline grew by 3.3% to 1.57 million.

Passenger traffic at SIA's subsidiary SilkAir increased by 6.8%, while its capacity rose by 16%. The number of passengers carried increased by 2.2% to 280,000. The carrier's passenger load factor fell by 6.2 percentage points to 69.3%.

SIA Cargo's overall traffic, as measured in freight tonne kilometres, decreased by 1.7%, while its capacity declined by 5%. The cargo load factor increased by 2.2 percentage points to 67.2%.

The overall passenger and cargo load factor for the SIA Group rose by 1.9 percentage points to 71.5%.
