VietJet Air has ordered CFM International CFM56-5B engines to power 21 Airbus A320 family aircraft it has on firm order.
A signing ceremony was held at the Singapore air show, one day after the airline firmed up its order for the A320s.
The order, valued at $800 million, covers engines for 14 A320s and seven A321s.
"This is a landmark in our relationship with VietJet," says Gael Meheust, vice-president sales of CFM.
VietJet also has 42 A320neos on order, but has not yet chosen an engine for those aircraft.
