Chinese carrier Xiamen Airlines has extended its pilot training contract with ST Aerospace’s commercial pilot training arm ST Aerospace Academy (STAA).

The latest agreement will train another 60 of the airline’s cadet pilots on a 14-month integrated commercial pilot licence programme, after the first contract was signed in late 2012, with the first two batches trained under the initial contract to graduate this year.

“Our first batch of pilots was well trained by STAA’s highly qualified instructors and its accredited training methodologies. We are pleased with the results of our first cooperation, which is why we are happy to renew our partnership with STAA,” says Xiamen Airlines’ general manager for flight standards department Zhang Chaoshun. “We are fully confident of STAA’s capabilities in helping us to meet our operational needs for well qualified pilots.”
