Singapore's Tiger Airways plans to begin flights to Trivandrum on India's west coast from 2 November.
The low-cost carrier will operate between Singapore and Trivandrum three times a week, says Tiger, which uses Airbus A320-family aircraft.
"As the capital of Kerala state, Trivandrum is a major hub for tourism and various industries, as well as a gateway to the Maldives and Sri Lanka," says Tiger Airways' Singapore managing director Rosalynn Tay.
Tiger will compete on the route against Singapore Airlines subsidiary SilkAir. SilkAir operates thrice a week between Singapore and Trivandrum, according to Innovata.
