Antalya-based charter carrier Sky Airlines is to enter the domestic market in Turkeyk, the eighth carrier to operate in the sector.

Founder and chief executive Talha Gorgulu says the airline will begin operating domestically at the end of November, initially with three aircraft from Antalya.

He says it will fly to Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Diyarbakir and Cyprus.

Gorgulu adds: "Antalya is mainly a charter hub. We believe that with new domestic operations from here, the tourism capacity will increase."

Sky operates a fleet of 17 Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.

Gorgulu also plans to expand the fleet over the next few months. He says: "With entry to the domestic market, we are looking to add four more aircraft to our fleet. We are talking with leasing companies. The type is not clear yet."
