Australia's Skywest Airlines has received an 12-month extension for its exclusive licence on the Perth-Derby route, with effect from 19 August.
The short-term licence to operate the route was awarded earlier this year, says Skywest.
The regional carrier operates five times weekly on the Perth-Derby route.
"Skywest is committed to offering long-term support to regional communities, and we look forward to the opportunity to deliver a reliable and high quality service to meet the needs of individuals and businesses in the Derby community," says chairman Jeff Chatfield.
"We are committed to growing our operations and enhancing our position as the leading airline in Western Australia by serving communities and further increasing our fly-in fly-out services for the major mining companies operating in the region."
